Dr Jill O’Donnell is an open vascular and endovascular surgeon, living locally on the Sunshine Coast. She originally obtained her undergraduate medical degree at the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland in Dublin, obtaining her Masters of Surgery and post-graduate Higher Surgical Training in General and Vascular Surgery. After obtaining her fellowship FRCSI exams, she underwent further specialist vascular training in Westmead Hospital (Sydney), John Hunter Hospital (Newcastle, NSW) and St George Hospital (Sydney). She completed the Australian and New Zealand Fellowship of Vascular Surgery in 2015 after passing the Vascular Surgery Board intercollegiate examination.
Jill relocated to the Sunshine Coast and commenced work in Nambour Hospital in April 2016. Jill currently works as the Clinical Director of Vascular Surgery at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, developing the vascular surgery department and vascular ultrasound laboratory. She has recently been elected to the Royal College of Surgeons Queensland Regional Committee.
Jill’s interests are open and endovascular approaches to aneurysmal disease, extra cranial carotid disease, renal access and peripheral vascular disease including radiofrequency ablation of varicose veins.
Jill is committed to developing regional vascular services for the Sunshine Coast and Gympie regions. Jill is looking forward to offering her vascular surgical services at Noosa Hospital from July 2018. Her consulting rooms will be based at Suite 4, Noosa Hospital.
